Recently we were approached by an Australian university to supply a large quantity of V-band clamps they could use throughout their bioengineering laboratory - to connect a unique lid to a glass vessel.
After testing several off-the-shelf clamps, and finding none were a suitable fit, we took things a step further.
Working with a US clamp manufacturer, we were able to design a fully customised V-band clamp, featuring:
- Full stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance
- Custom width V - requiring the manufacture of custom dies
- Custom diameter to suit lid and vessel flanges
- Over-centre quick-release latch for easy application and removal
- Unique part numbers for simple re-ordering.
While this application was certainly different from the sectors we usually work in, we love assisting in these unique situations - going the extra mile in achieving customer satisfaction.
